Thursday 17th August saw an early morning start for our Year 13 students as they joined us back at school to collect their A level exam results, securing confirmation of where their next steps after life at Quinton, will take them.
Economics, Computer Programming, Psychology & Sports Management are just some of the subjects that our students have chosen when continuing their studies into higher education. Other students have already successfully integrated themselves into their chosen careers within leading sectors such as finance.
Our Sixth Form students benefit from personalised work experience packages over their 2 years of study, which then supports their University applications into highly competitive subjects such as medicine & law.
3 ‘A’ grades & a ‘B’ for our Head Girl Irene M, sees her complete her ambition of attending a Russell Group University to study Economics.
Our Headmaster Mr Tom Muskin had the following message on the day:
“This group of students have been a privilege to work with and their journey should not be overlooked or underestimated. They have navigated the covid-19 pandemic, teacher–assessed grades at GCSE and now they have taken on the challenge of A-levels which have been re-set to 2019 grade boundaries, which nationally has seen a reduction of the top grades awarded. I am certain that they understand and are prepared for the challenges that they now face as they have already managed some of the most turbulent times in education and secured impressive outcomes.
We allow our students to attend work placements in school time to test the water in industry and to allow them to make good decisions on what they study at degree level. Our scheme demonstrates true commitment over time to areas such as Medicine or Law. We currently have students working at Northampton General Hospital, Tollers law firm, and have facilitated experiences at Westminster and local physiotherapy clinics.
The cohort have been incredibly successful and have all been able to take the next step into their chosen university or into the world of work. It was lovely to see them so happy today and excited for their future. They are ready for their next steps and will leave us with integrity and determination to lead the way. Quinton will remain part of their family, forever their school and we will be on hand to support them when needed.”
