VISION AND VALUES
We are a proud and inclusive school
We value the holistic approach to education, ensuring each student is treated as an individual with their unique needs accommodated to give them the support they need in the learning environment. We want to create a 'home-away-from home', where students are comfortable with both their surroundings and the people they interact with.
Leadership is at the heart of everything we do. Our Sixth Form students have the opportunity to take on leadership of our many student run ambassador roles. Our Head Students take an active lead in the day-to-day running of the school as well as overseeing the other student leadership roles. Students are actively encouraged to become mentors, run co-curricular clubs and help train our next athletes.
Our mission is to prepare students for life beyond education – the world is rapidly changing and we must ensure our students have the right qualifications and skills to adapt and in many cases, lead the changes. Easy access to our Director of Sixth Form Mrs Chelsea Austen, whose office is in the heart of our Sixth Form Village, means students have daily support regarding their future career pathways and we offer specialist programmes for those applying to Oxbridge and other competitive courses.
Our ever-growing industry links means that we put work placements at the heart of our timetable. Students are given the opportunity as part of their regular learning to complete weekly placements at a number of different organisations. We believe that work experience is important and helps set our students apart from the rest. Our regular careers talks means that we enable our students to be able to make the right career/university choice that matches their unique skill set.
